Vitor has written a book ("Eclipse do tempo: um guia para entrar em buracos negros," in portuguese) on black holes, a journey that starts with the notion of time and light, and culminates with gravitational waves and the end of science. Black holes are strange and fascinating objects in the cosmos, simultaneously a mathematical construct and a physical entity, produced in our universe. The book is also a reflection about what it means to do science and about our role as sentient beings in this process. The opening ceremony took place in Lisbon on May 15 and was covered by the media.
